Caring for the Cows
At Elle & Vire®, we use French milk.
In France, dairy farms are typically family-run, with an average of 66 cows*, which spend approximately 180 days** per year outdoors, grazing on
fresh grass.

Prioritizing French Milk
Our products, made in Normandy - the birthplace of French cream - are produced using
milk partly collected in the region.
To complement this sourcing and ensure continuous production at our Normandy
creamery, we have established partnerships with other local producers and with the
Savencia Group’s French facilities.
We are proud to produce more than 95% (by volume) of our Elle & Vire® products* using French milk.
Working with committed 
All of our French dairy farmers are committed to the Good Farming Practices Charter.
In addition, an Animal Welfare Charter, based on the expertise of the international NGO Compassion in World Farming (CIWF), is currently being implemented by Savencia Fromage & Dairy, the group we belong to. It is structured around four key challenges:
By the end of 2024, 68% of the farmers have been audited and have defined action plans for better farming conditions.
Decarbonizing 
The objective? To ensure that 100% of Agrial, agricultural cooperative’s, dairy farmers who supply us with milk are working to reduce their carbon footprint by the end of 2026.
In concrete terms, this concerns 1,300 producers and 1 billion litres of milk collected. Financial assistance is planned to encourage the completion of the assessment and the implementation of the decarbonisation measures identified by the audit.
