La Réunion - Week of Taste and Gastronomy

Elle & Vire Professionnel was proud  to be one of the partners of the Week of Taste and Gastronomy on the French island La Réunion, located in the Indian Ocean that took place from  25 to 28 September 2015. This event was organized at the occasion of “La Fête de la Gastronomie, with the participation of the association “Goût et terroirs sur l’Ile de La Reunion”.

During this week, numerous events were organized in order for the locals and especially the children to discover new products and new savors thanks to different workshops. Special menus were elaborated for schools and high schools to give all children an opportunity to take part in this event.

Luc Gamel, Best Pastry Craftsman of France and Serge Billet, Best Pastry Craftsman of France and World Pastry Champion  were present at the event and used their expertise and passion to make people try out new things.

A cooking competition was also organized  to elect the “Best Hope of the Indian Ocean”. The winner was handed in his prizes by the two Chefs and members of the association.
