At the heart of Excellence, taste of real

Our milk

For 80 years, Elle & Vire® has offered products of exceptional quality and taste, rooted in Normandy’s dairy expertise. The brand is committed to supporting chefs on a daily basis - from milk collection to the finished product - who promote responsible consumption.

Caring for the Cows

At Elle & Vire®, we use French milk. In France, dairy farms are typically family-run, with an average of 66 cows*, which spend approximately 180 days** per year outdoors, grazing in lush pastures.

Working with committed Dairy Farmers

Charte des bonnes pratiques d'élevage

At the same time, an Animal Welfare Charter - developed with the expertise of the international NGO Compassion in World Farming (CIWF) - is being implemented across all our farms. It is built around four key pillars:

  • Improved consideration of animal health
  • High-quality, sustainable, local feed
  • Access to the outdoors
  • Comfortable stalls

Prioritizing French Milk

At the Condé-sur-Vire site, part of our milk collection is carried out within the Normandy region.

To complement this sourcing and ensure continuous production at our Normandy creamery, we have established partnerships with other local producers and with the Savencia Group’s French facilities.

We are proud to produce more than 95% (by volume) of our Elle & Vire® products* using French milk - a testament to our commitment to the French dairy sector

* Products not concerned : Original American Cream Cheese 34% fat (made with American milk), Traditional Australian Cream Cheese 35% fat (made with Australian milk), and Sweetened aerosol Cream 27% fat (made with European milk).

Decarbonizing
the Dairy Sector

The objective?
To ensure that 100% of Agrial, agricultural cooperative’s, dairy farmers who supply us with milk are working to reduce their carbon footprint by the end of 2026.

In concrete terms, this concerns 1,300 producers and 1 billion litres of milk collected. Financial assistance is planned to encourage the completion of the assessment and the implementation of the decarbonisation measures identified by the audit.
