Opening a pastry boutique offering the best creations from French pastry cooks? This is the successful bet of Julie Mathieu and Muriel Taillandier, the two founders of Fou de Pâtisserie magazine. This delicious adventure was born out of a simple observation: everyone does not have the time to walk around Paris to unearth their favourite pastries.

Karine Lewkowicz created the boudoir atmosphere. The place’s charm lies in the walls which are decorated with cake drawings and the wooden floor which alternates blond boards and lovely painted boards with a nice pink shading off.

The boutique features the iconic creations of the greatest pastry Chefs as well as a selection of exclusive pastries for 5,90€ each. In the store front, Cyril Lignac’s Equinoxe (The Cyril Lignac Pastry) stands alongside Christophe Adam’s salted butter caramel (Eclair of Genius) and Hugues Pouget’s Millefeuille (Hugo & Victor). Temptations are numerous: Jonathan Blot’s passion fruit/hibiscus Cheesecake (Macaroon Acid), Olivier Haustraete’s Paris-Brest (BO Bakery) or Pierre Hermé’s famous Ispahan will not let down a single pastry lover… In addition to changing its menu seasonally, Fou de Pâtisserie regularly invites a pastry Chef to feature a special creation available for a few weeks at the boutique. Fou de Pâtisserie also has macaroons, chocolates, madeleines and financiers (Gilles Marchal) as well as fruit jellies (Jacques Génin), spreads, jams, marshmallows… In other words, the hardest part is to choose!
